World Conference on Indigenous Peoples

Will grassroots people (who are not associated with non-profits) be attending the UN World Conference on Indigenous Peoples in New York? Will they have a voice? Will there be authentic journalists there? Bolivia President Evo Morales will be there and Bolivia is engaged in the planning. But already grassroots activists and authentic journalists are writing, wondering about the travel costs and whether they are invited. They are hoping it will not just be the same non-profits, and the same UN rhetoric which does not result in real change. World Conference Sept 22 -- 23, 2014, New York

After the Zapatistas were attacked in La Realidad in May, Marcos announced that the persona of Marcos would "cease to exist." At the same time, I was near death in a hospital in Arizona.
